Job Acquisition Skills
Today's objective is to learn appropriate job acquisition skills. For your journal answer the following questions. What methods do people use to find jobs? How is technology becoming a bigger part of finding jobs in today's society? How have you (or your parents or friends) found jobs that you (or they) have held? What do you need to acquire a job? How important do you feel it is to be prepared for a job even before you get it?

ReplyDeletePeople can look in the newspapers for help wanted ads or just look on the internet. The internet is used by almost everybody and has way more ways of finding a job. A newspaper may only have a few job ads in it for that week. Neither me or my parents have needed to look for a job online because they have always had a job and provided one for me. You need a resume and skills for a good interview. If you are prepared before you even get a job then you can show the employer how ready you are and then if you get it you don't have to spend that extra time getting ready for you new job.

ReplyDeletePeople can use various ways to find jobs such as looking for ads, the internet, or talking to businesses. Technology is becoming a large part of finding a job because many businesses have job applications online and thats how they advertise. The jobs that I have held, I aquired an application from the city. It is important to be prepared for a job because that way you look like a good candidate to your employer or possible employer for this job.

ReplyDeleteThere are always adds in the newspaper. Technology is always and option cause businesses are on the internet. I have never had to find a job cause my job was provided for me.I need physical strength and smarts to work at my job.
they use the news paper, the computer, and hearing it from a friend or family member. it has made it harder for people because they have to sensor themselves on the computer the make sure that there is nothing on there they anyone can judge you for. i got the jobs by knowing the right people. you need mad skills and be cool ;). you have to be prepared in anyway shape or form. taz

ReplyDeleteThey can look on the internet or they can look in the newspapers.More people are using the internet or usig their phone.It is alot faster to look on the internet then to look threw a newspaper.I went and talked to the manager to see if there was an openening.Needto fill out a resume and also need recomendations.I think it is very important so that you get chosen.
Some people look online or in the paper for jobs. Sometimes people ask around at job sites or look at fliers hung up at places. Computer are really helping with people because you can search for jobs in the area you live in and get a lot of information about the job. Also you can send your resume by email it will get there right away. No one in my family has got a job on online places. You would need a resume and be professional when you have an interview. You would be ready to go when you are prepared. MORGAN

ReplyDeletePeople can find jobs by the internet, newspapers, or bulletin boards hung around the town. More people have access to some form of internet or technology than newspapers. They can check their phones and find a job within minutes. News papers are helpful for local jobs, but the news paper doesn’t have near as many options as the internet. My dad is a farmer/rancher and does everything by himself. He never had to look for a job. (Maybe in college) My mom found her job by her friends and she has worked there ever since. My father provides a job for me. You need to have good work ethics; you need to be responsible as well. You need to be honest and a driven worker to acquire a job. Along with those things you also need to have a resume, interview skills, and possibly letters of recommendations. You need to be prepared for your job every day. If you do get the job and you aren’t prepared, it could be potentially bad. If you’re prepared, your potential employer will see how determined you are.

ReplyDeleteNormal people look in the HElP WANTED section in a newspaper. Today people use the technology such as Internet to look for jop opennings. My father heard of a new building thats was going up and he went and talked to the bossman. Well most jobs aquire an application with a bunch of information on that you have to answer. It is very important to be ready for a job so you can look good for the bossman, and he'll like your interest in the job.
Its not about what you know its about who you know. There are more jobs that require a computer. We know people. You need friends. Its uber important.

People use the internet to find jobs or they hear from other people that there is a job open. It has made finding a job way easier and faster for people. Someone asked me if i wanted the job and I did so i had to go in for an interview. I think its really important to be prepared.Lane

ReplyDeletePeople can use many different things to find jobs. They can use the internet, the newspaper, flyers around town, or even they can ask businesses if they are hiring. Technology is becoming a bigger part of finding a job because you can search the world for a job you are interested and you will find an opening somewhere. If you were to look in the local paper for a job in the medical department you might find nursing positions, but more than likely you won't find doctor positions. I've found the jobs I've had through my friends and my parents' friends and the local newspaper. To acquire a job you might need many things. You may need a resume, cover page, references, job experience, and a high school/college diploma. I think it is very important to prepare for a job even before you get it. You want to be prepared for the work you might do and you want to be able to pick up where your boss expects. If you come to a job and have no idea what you are supposed to do more than likely you won't be working there very long unless you are a fast learner.

ReplyDeletePeople can use ads in the paper to help them find jobs, internet, school counselor, or your family can help by putting a good word in for you.Many businesses are putting their applications online to help fill out and instead of talking to you they are going to e-mail you. They have either had other family members help them out to put a good word in, they either knew the boss, or they had a really good interview and application. You need organizational skills, people skills, and be abl to take on challenging tasks. I feel that being prepared is very important in order to get a job.

Technology is becoming a bigger part about finding jobs by many people going online to view more jobs and even online news papers. I have found jobs by word of mouth. You need a resume, and have a great attitude and being willing to work hard. It is very important to be prepared and ready to work so you don’t get fired from your job.
People use newspapers, internet, or go to the Department of Labor to get a packet full of different job openings, as well as going to businesses and asking them if they need any help. Technology is everywhere and is a big part of today’s society, every business uses computers and websites for their publicity. They have gone to businesses directly and applied or they have gotten a packet from the department of labor and looked at the job openings and then called or e-mailed them. You need to be organized and on top of things to have a job. It is very important because then once you get the job you will already know what you need to do.

ReplyDeleteThere are multiple ways that people can find jobs. From calling employers, to the internet, to newspapers, there are so many ways. Technology really helps people find jobs. Employers put advertisements for their business all over the internet. You can google jobs and you can always go to jobs that are specifically for job searching.
The jobs I've held have been through networking. I just so happened to know people or people knew me and asked.
To acquire a job you need to be sophisticated, organized, responsible, respectful, kind and more. It is very important to be prepared for a job because when you get it you want to be ready to go and do a great job.

You can also ask people if they know of any job listings or someone that needs any help with any career they are employed in. ReplyDeletetechniology and computer have been and will still be the main method of finding a job. newspapers are still one of the popular was to look too. both the internet and the newspaper have the same methods. both provide news ads, job listings, and classifieds that will help anyone. asking people is also a good way to get it done, except if your shy then you so mostly stay on the computer. you must be motivied and determind when youing for a job. you also have to be organized and stay calm or you could gain more stress then paychecks.
Technology is a good way to find job. people can get job information on the internet quicker and easier than what they can with a newspaper. in this day and age people look at the internet way more that they do a newspaper. Shawn

ReplyDeleteThere are so many different ways people can find jobs in today world that include newspapers, internet, and television. Now-a-days you can find jobs on the internet from a variety of websites including Craigslist, Facebook, Twitter, and many others. I have had a couple jobs in my life, and I've found out about them in all different ways. My first job at the Grand Lodge, I just went out and asked for a job and got it. The second job I had was at Venture Communications Cooperative and I saw that job in the newspaper and had to apply. The last job I got was at the Highmore City Pool, which I knew about on my own, but was also in the newspaper and from friends. To acquire a job, you need to usually apply, and if its very professional, they may ask for a resume, and may also need to do an interview. You need to be prepared for a job even before you have the job so that you know what your getting yourself into. Also, you may need to change you lifestyle or get supplies for the job. There are many different things you may need to and/or get before beginning a new career.

ReplyDeleteI feel that technology(mostly computers) are going to be a standard method for getting a job. Though they are somewhat used by people to get employed they are mostly used to entertain and inform yourself. People usually seem to find jobs through the people they know or finding open positions through ads. They may also find a job through seeing "help-wanted signs." I have gotten a job through the people I know, they offered a job for the summer and I took it. My parents got their jobs by going out and applying themselves for open positions. To get a job you would need an education, to an extent, and a good work ethic. I'd say you might want to be prepared for your job, that way you can get started faster and make a good impression.

ReplyDeleteI think that people use the method of knowing what they know and using that to their advantage. The people you work for can find out a lot of things about you off of the internet and it is an easier faster way to get stuff done in a job. There is a lot of things on the internet that you can find out about one person or their family. The way that they have found their job is just stuff that they have been interested in and doing what they like. Sometimes there is a lot of different things that you need may need for different types of jobs. Some require one thing and other may not require that thing at all. I think it is very important to be prepared for the job that you would like to know what you have to do and what you have to have to have the job that you want. Being prepared now can save you time in the future.

Technology is a very easy way to find and get jobs, because its faster and easier than most other things. People know technology more than a lot now days because that's what we're used to. To keep your job you have to be motivated and enjoy your job because if you don't you wont do that well and you'll probably lose your job. You need to follow all the rules and try to do your best. I think its very important because if your not ready for it your not going to do very good at it.

Well some people look in the help wanted section of the paper. I believe they found their jobs in the newspaper. Great people skills and many other great attributes. It is extremely important to be prepared for job if you aren't prepared then you don't get the job

There are so many different and great ways but the easiest is probably the good old reliable new paper. You can look on the computer like craigslist if your really ballsy but that's not the best one. There's online newspapers that people look for jobs in. Everybody is getting lazy and if they are attempting to find a job they look on the internet so they don't have to get out of the bath robe and off the couch. They got told by somebody that was working there that they should apply so they did and they got and they kind of enjoyed so they kept it for the goodness of the family. You need a degree of some sort and then you need to reach the top level to succeed. You need to always be ready for the unthinkable and the better prepared you are the better chance they will like you and hire you so you can provide for your family and not be a bum on welfare.

There are several methods for people to find job in today's society. People find jobs by using the internet, newspapers, television, and going out to places and asking if they have any openings. I found my job by being contacted by my employer asking if I would like to help her out last summer. My sister got her previous job by applying for it but found out about it from the newspaper and the television. To acquire a job, you need to apply and you need to have a resume. The place that you apply to can ask to have to do an interview, but not all places will.
