Work Ethics Journal
What basic ethics should guide the behavior of a well-known business leader? In what ways-if any- should that leader's ethics differ from those of a part-time worker in the leader's company? Pick a negative or unethical trait that you sometimes see in yourself. What are some ways that you could improve that negative trait? (At least 5 sentences)

ReplyDeleteThey should be hard working and very effecient. they should not be different they should be very driven too. I can sometimes be very undriven if I dont want to do someting. I could just force myself to do somthing. My dad also makes me do things im not motivated to do.

ReplyDeleteThey should be able to be in charge and be a leader. You should know whats right and what is wrong. They should be able to be in charge and not let people push them around. To improve them you could stand up for your self and not let people do things that you know are not ethical. Lane
ReplyDeleteSherise, Basic ethics of a great leader would include the following: trustworthy, hard workers, dedicated, organized friendly, and team worker. All these are great ethics to have especially if you are the leader of a business. All these qualities are important because if a leader doesn't have these qualities they won't be a good leader.
ReplyDeleteA part-time worker won't have so much responsibility as much as someone who is working full time. A full time person needs to be more responsible than a part time worker, because they are working all that time. A full time person needs to be very organized also, because a part time person does not have so much information to keep straight.
I get unfocused at times. I would improve this by taking a break from my work, and just take time to relax and regroup. I could also just take a deep breath, and continue working.

ReplyDeleteA well-know business leader should be responsible, on task, and respectable. A part-time leader is not as looked up to to have such good work ethics because they are not there all the time. A leader's worth ethic needs to be an every day basis. Sometimes I am not organized. I could improve this by sorting things in folders and by spending more time keeping my things placed where they need to be.

ReplyDeleteA good leader needs to have alot of leadership and modivation. They need to be able to modivate their workers. They need to be at the work place most of the time not part time. They need to beable to lead and be there for there. I have alright leadership, but my speaking skills suck. I have been doing things that i would do. I spoke in out skit to get use to talking in front of people.

ReplyDeletePeople with good ethics should be hard working and have a good attitude. They should not be distracting to other people they work with. If you are the leader of the company you should definetly act way more responsible because if you have bad ethics your workers think it is ok to have bad ethics. One bad ethic that I procrastinate very bad. I just need to start forcing myself to do stuff and set a certain time I am going to get them done.
I believe a good business leader should be nice, friendly, firm, organized, easy to work with, respectful,trustworthy, understanding and treat employees with the the upmost respect.
ReplyDeleteA part-time employee should be a hard worker, no matter what. I don't think it should matter if you are a part-time or the leader of the company, good work ethics are important. Granted, a business leader is probably the leader for a good reason.
I think one negative trait may be that I don't always trust people to handle a task. I sometimes don't think they'll get it done on time or done good enough, so then I don't assign them anything to do. But I could get better at it by trusting them to do it and if they don't do it right, I"ll help them correct it.

ReplyDeleteWork ethics all people should have are open-mindedness, listening skills, honesty, and trustworthiness. Business leaders should have more defined work ethics than necessary. If they have to actually run a business, they have to be hard working to ensure their company succeeds. Part time workers only work there; they don't have to ensure the success of a company (necessarily). I can procrastinate quite a bit. That is a very bad work ethic to have. Some ways I could fix that problem is to be more organized. I try, but sometimes it's hard when there's a lot going on. I could also make sure I get my work done by having an organizing planner.

ReplyDeleteGood business leaders should work hard and be considerate to all employees. Leaders should be more prepared for all challenges, beter pressure handlers, and they should be able to help everyone in the office. I'm a very critical person and I don't like that quality. If people do something that I don't like I will critisize them and sometimes it is mean. I could change that trait by thinking of things to say that help other people but aren't to harsh.

If someone is a leader they need to be responsible and dedicated to their work. A bad ethic that i have is putting things off and saying "ill do it later." I need to be more responsible and just get it done and out of the way.

ReplyDeleteThey should be willing to work hard, and they should be willing to work long hours. I believe that they should be able to take order, and get things done. I'm at times quiet and shy. I'd try to be more outgoing. I'd also try and be more socializable.

ReplyDeleteI think that some of the basic ethics a well known leader should be that they apply themselves to their job and they know how to handle different situations in there job that might not be all that great. Their abilities should be a lot better because they are the leader of the company and so they should have more experience then just a part time worker would have. I do not get motivated very easily, sometimes it takes a little bit to get up and actually do something. I think that I could improve this by doings stuff more often so that everything gets done when it is suppose to.
Bosses should be hard workers and also uplifting along with doing whatever it takes to get the job done.

The part time employee will always be half committed to work. I guess I can be a little biased sometimes. I mean everybody is entitled to their own opinion, so long as it doesn't get in the way of work.

They need to be efficient, well motivated, and great with people. The main trait that should differ is defiantly the one where he takes control and makes that business is lady if you know what I mean. I tend to but stuff off until the very end. I should get it done earlier is how I can fix that.

Part time workers don't need to have as much dedication. Sometimes I see more of the negative side of people and I don't want to get along them, I hope that will change. I could improve that trait by giving people chances to prove me different rather than just assuming things.
A well-known business leader should be a hard worker, have listening skills, trustworthy, responsible, organized, and a team worker. If a leader doesn’t have these any of these qualities, then they wouldn’t be a great leader of a business. A part-time worker might not have all these ethics, because they only work part-time and they only are focused on getting what they have to get done. So they don’t tend to have organization skills, aren’t always a team worker, or ever work hard. I tend to get distracted and draw away from my work, then come back to it. I could improve that by trying to focus more and if I do get distracted go to a different environment to work. -Steph
ReplyDeleteSome very important work ethics include: organization, social skills, personable, leadership, motivation, kind, and respect for others. If you are in charge of a business, you obviously need to know to be in charge, but also be kind and respect others. I think from the organization I'm in and having a job gives me most of these traits and ethics that I listed, especially social skills, organization, leadership, motivation, and respect for others. I usually seem really annoyed when I'm doing things that I don't like to do, which isn't usually good, especially when I work with the people in a restaurant/hotel like I do, and plan on doing the rest of my life. I need to just start looking at everything in a good way and be optimistic rather than pessimistic!

There are a lot of ethics that are very important. Some of which are organization, leadership, and motivation. Managers should act different then the workers. They should be more responsible and have more things like that. Sometimes I am very unmotivated and don't do work like this but I could work on it.

A Hard worker is def. a skill you would want your employee to have. You would also want your worker to have experience in the field before, or have went to college or sometime of class for training. on thing I am bad at is getting up for work, and getting there on time. some businesses you can get away with that, but most will probably fire you.
